Social Measures
The railway networks are developing partnerships with nearby community organizations, which are numerous and varied in Europe: regional authorities, municipalities, the community-based-organization network-each with its own, often long-standing, social and cultural heritage. Although different, each organization is striving for increased social inclusion using its individual methods, structure and facilities.
Social contracts are developed with the support of the employment ministries of the European countries, with the aim of upholding ethical principles leading to business principles and values grounded in social responsibility.
Within the framework of policies regarding services for the homeless in the European Union, countries devote varying amounts to social protection, with some countries contributing twice as much as others. The types of intervention vary considerably, from emergency services to integration, using various tools. Local policies and practices range from repressive, to tolerant to very innovative.
